This is written in plain English on purpose. A more formal version may replace it later, but the commitments here will stay the same or get stronger.

The short version

Debbee is a note-taking tool you interact with over text. The service is provided as-is with no guarantees. You can leave and your data will be deleted.

What we collect

  • Phone number — to send and receive messages.
  • GitHub data — your notes are stored in a private GitHub repository that only you (and any collaborators you invite) can access. Soon: bring your own GitHub repo for full control of your notes.

We don’t sell your data. We don’t use it for advertising. We don’t share it with third parties except to operate the service (see below).

How your data is processed

  • Messages are processed through US-hosted large language models with zero data retention.
  • Notes are stored in a private GitHub repositories. You can see every change and own all the data.
  • SMS communication is end-to-end encrypted by your carrier.

Your data, your control

You can at any time:

  • Ask Debbee to show you all your notes.
  • Transfer your notes to your own GitHub repository by emailing the address below
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data by texting Debbee or emailing the address below.

Text messaging

By providing your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from Debbee. Message and data rates may apply. We will never send spam or share your number.

No warranties

Debbee is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Debbee draws from your own notes, but AI can still make mistakes — don’t rely on it for anything critical without double-checking.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Debbee is limited to the amount you have paid us (which may be $0). We are not responsible for the content of your notes or any actions you take based on Debbee’s responses.

Changes to service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Debbee at any time. If we introduce paid plans, you will always be able to export your notes before any change takes effect. We’ll give reasonable notice for material changes.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you via text. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
